Building corporation
«UkrAsiaBuild» was created according to Decree of Cabinet of
ministers of Ukraine of January 19, 1998 ¹ 21-ð. It is an
association combining the largest building and industrial
enterprises with the largest scientific, research and design
institutes in Ukraine. The Corporation is a new type of company,
providing investment activities and performing the entire range of
works – from engineering, design development and estimate
documentation to «turn-key» commissioning of projects.
The members of the corporations are leading
Ukrainian enterprises: State corporations "Ukrmontazhspetsstroi" and
"Ukrtransstroi", close joint stock company "Ukrneftegasstroi",
concern "Azovmash" and State scientific-research and design
institute of general chemistry (NIOHIM). Policy on the development
of the corporation is determined by its Board. Efficient management
of the 148 people working in the administration of BC "UkrAsiaBuild"
is performed by the heads of various departments (photo
below).
The purpose of creating the corporation was
the expansion of mutually beneficial external economic ties in
construction of priority projects abroad, as well as providing
stable functioning of construction complexes in Ukraine and the
settling on this base of internal and intergovernmental accounts,
including supplies of natural gas and other types of energy into
Ukraine.
The partners of the corporation are
large-scale Ukrainian and foreign companies, including: ÎÀÎ «Frunze
SMNPO», Transport and energy systems of Ukraine
«Neftegasizolyatsia», «Himtehnologiya», «Severodonetskiy ORGHIM»,
«Dneprogiprotrans», corporation «Industrial Union of Donbass» and
others.
The creation of «UkrAsiaBuild» was a response
to changes in economic and political conditions in CIS countries.
The Production and scientific potential, as
well as the personnel and resources of the members of the
corporation, make it possible to combine many years’ experience with
modern concepts of management and work organization for the
execution of large-scale intergovernmental projects. In difficult
conditions of partial or non-payment and insolvencies the
corporation uses new and alternative mechanisms of financing and
outside funding.
The total turnover of the corporation, from
1998 to 2002, exceeded 1 billion UAH.
In 2002 BC «UkrAsiaBuild» initiated the
creation of the consortium «Ukrainian Industry» jointly with
corporation «Industrial Union of Donbass», «First International
Ukrainian Bank», JSC
«Gaztransit».
