From May 20th to 23rd, Mr. Farenik, chairman of Board of Building Corporation "UkrAsiaBuild", visited Washington, DC. The aim of his visit was to establish business contacts with American companies and explore the possibilities of Ukrainian participation in the reconstruction of Iraq.

On the 20th of May Mr. Farenik together with His Excellency Kostyantyn Gryshchenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to USA, met with the co-chair of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus, the Honorable Congressman Curt Weldon. After a presentation of the capabilities of BC "UkrAsiaBuild" and the "Ukrindustry" consortium, the possibilities of their participation in the reconstruction of Iraq were discussed. It was stressed by the American side that all the necessary political prerequisites for the Ukrainian enterprises are in place and it is now necessary to establish connections on the level of America's private business sector.

On the 21st of May Mr. Farenik participated in the USAID Iraq Reconstruction Program Supplier Conference, organized by Bechtel Corporation. Mr. Farenik also met with the representatives of the business circles to establish contacts for cooperation in the field of project financing and participation in the reconstruction of Iraq.
